MahaMrityunjaya

ओम नमः शिवाय

om, tryambakaṁ yajāmahe

sugandhiṁ puṣṭi-vardhanam

urvā-rukamiva bandhanān

mṛtyor-mukṣīya mā'mṛtāt

MahaMrityunjaya, one of the oldest mantras in Hindu Scriptures which is mentioned in RigVeda, Yagur Veda,  Atharva Veda and bears a very special significance. The lines in the mantra address the Rudra avatar of Lord Shiva(The first yogi the “Adiyogi”).

MahaMrityunjaya is a unification of three hindi words.

Maha +  Mrityun +  Jaya

All the three words having specific meaning Maha meaning ‘Great’, Mrityun meaning ‘Death’ with Jaya meaning ‘Victory’, it also goes by different names like Mrita-Sanjivini , because of its life-restoring practice thus combining 3 words we get ‘The one who has Victory over Death’.

Let us understand the term MANTRAS. Mantra is a pure form of sound, not in terms of something being pure & impure but in the context of sound, reverberation, it’s a pure sound, pure reverberation, as a matter of fact everything in the universe is just a reverberation, meaning of something only cease to exist in human head. So the function of any mantra is to use reverberation in such a way to create a positive environment around yourself.

There are many theories about its origin,  one of being Rishi Markandeya with a life expectancy of 16 years, Rishi Markandeya became a great devotee of Lord Shiva and one day when he was 15 years of age Yam(The god of death)came to take his life, then Rishi Markandeya who was then worshiping one of the forms of Lord Shiva the Shiv-Ling, grabed the shiv-ling, and it is believed that as soon as he touched the Shivas from Kal-Bhairva(Kal meaning Time), The time stopped for Markandeya, He was above the law of time and space and till today it is believed he is living a life of a 15 year old boy.

The MahaMrityunjaya Mantra is a boon to humanity and a panacea to all forms of ailments – Physical, Mental, Intellectual and Spiritual.

So let’s just focus on the Sound/Reverberation of the MahaMrityunjaya Mantra and not on the Meaning. So For once let’s just do something as it is, and not ask why, when, where, how.

Just Feel

Gulliver’s Travels Summary

Lemuel Gulliver, a realistic Englishman who was trained as a surgeon, embarks on a journey across the ocean after his business fails, as told in Gulliver's Travels. Gulliver recounts the misadventures that occur to him on these journeys in a deadpan first-person narrative that hardly ever demonstrates any symptoms of self-reflection or intense emotional response. When Gulliver wakes up after his shipwreck, he discovers that he is bound by many tiny threads and being addressed by tiny captors who are awestruck by him but fiercely protective of their realm. This is the beginning of Gulliver's voyage in Lilliput. Despite the fact that their arrows are hardly more than pinpricks, they are not afraid to employ violence against Gulliver. They risk hunger in their country by feeding Gulliver, who eats more than a thousand Lilliputians could, although they are generally friendly. Gulliver is transported into the capital by a huge waggon that the Lilliputians made specifically for the...
