Dev Diwali

 Dev Deepawali

The festival which also some time referred as Diwali of Gods is greatly, and celebrated on a surprisingly huge scale with deep devotion  in the Ghats of our Kashi/Varanasi(Banaras) India.

If to be believed the story behind this is that with the help of Tarak and Viduynmali, a daemon by the name Muy Daanav constructed 3 aerial purs which he gave to the daemons. With this unbelievable power at their hand the daemons become mad with greed, lust and did many horrific things that a normal person wouldn’t dare even to think. Seeing these havoc, all the devas approached Lord Shiva to put to  a stop to it, then an angered Shiva rose and destroyed all the tree purs showing his immense strength and power, thus the name Tripurari(An epithet of Lord Rudra). The devas rejoice their victory, hence the Dev Deepawali .

In earlier days, the celebration for the Dev Diwali started from the day of Ekadishi TIthi of Kratik Shukla Paksha and it went till the 5th day, i.e full moon night (Purnima). That’s also 15 day after Diwali which should be obvious as Diwali is on amavasya and dev Diwali on Purnima, thus moon completing its full cycle. But now a days, the 22nd generation has almost forget the significance and relationship of these two, for them they are both different festivals, which happens in few days after another.

It is a treat for any living being, to witness this day at the ghats of Banaras or it is said in loving language Kashi. Just sit there, and let the energy flow, you will know. I can’t say myself explain the feeling as I myself has not visited the ghats on this particular day.

It is always said, everything happens with a reason behind, if you think something is random, it is just you not able to understand the great cosmos.

Gulliver’s Travels Summary

Lemuel Gulliver, a realistic Englishman who was trained as a surgeon, embarks on a journey across the ocean after his business fails, as told in Gulliver's Travels. Gulliver recounts the misadventures that occur to him on these journeys in a deadpan first-person narrative that hardly ever demonstrates any symptoms of self-reflection or intense emotional response. When Gulliver wakes up after his shipwreck, he discovers that he is bound by many tiny threads and being addressed by tiny captors who are awestruck by him but fiercely protective of their realm. This is the beginning of Gulliver's voyage in Lilliput. Despite the fact that their arrows are hardly more than pinpricks, they are not afraid to employ violence against Gulliver. They risk hunger in their country by feeding Gulliver, who eats more than a thousand Lilliputians could, although they are generally friendly. Gulliver is transported into the capital by a huge waggon that the Lilliputians made specifically for the...
